Walk to the Waterfalls on the Uluguru Mountains

Our guides can take you on a walk to suit your interests and fitness. You can visit and swim in one of several waterfalls on the mountains overlooking Morogoro. Your walk will take you through spice plantations and pineapple fields, and you can meet with villagers selling soft fruits and other produce.

Overnight trips are possible, camping on the mountain.

Safari - Mikumi National Park

We can arrange day trips to Mikumi National Park. You will travel in a comfortable six seat specially modified Land Cruiser with our experienced driver/safari guide. Wildlife commonly seen in Mikumi includes Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and over 400 species of birds.

Safaris - Selous and Ruaha

You can experience the wonderful Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park, using Simbamwenni as a base. Travel from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro via the Selous, and enjoy two nights on the Rufiji River, with some of the best game viewing Tanzania has to offer. Complete the safari with a visit to Ruaha.

Birdwatching - Uluguru Mountain Treks for Endemic Birds

The picturesque mountains seen from Simbamweni are the Uluguru Mountains. These majestic rainforest-capped mountains are part of the famous Eastern Arc Mouintains that stretch from the south of Tanzania to the south of Kenya. The mountains are famous for their high levels of endemism - animals that are found nowhere else. These include at least 100 plant species, two bird species, two mammals, two reptiles and four species of amphibians!

Simbamweni can organise trips into the mountains where some of these species can be seen. Packed lunches can also be prepared on request.

We have an ever expanding garden list

Udzungwa - Sanje Falls

Udzungwa Mountains National Park trips can also be organised from Simbamweni Camp. Here breath-taking views are had from the top of Sanje Waterfall, 170m high. Swims in the plunge pool below are a must here while keeping an eye out for endemic mammals and numerous species of Monkeys.

For those wanting more, a six day hike can be arranged that will take you deep into the forest. Contact Hondo Hondo Lodge, see www.udzungwaforestcamp.com
