WELCOME TO
SIMBAMWENNI LODGE & CAMPING
Ideally situated near the busy market town of Morogoro, Simbamwenni Lodge is the place to stay if you are on business in town, looking for a short visit to Mikumi National Park, a walk in the Uluguru mountains to see some of the most exciting endemic bird species in Tanzania, or an expedition into the Udzungwe game reserve to see red colobus monkeys, or just want to get away from city life, without leaving it too far behind!
Located within 10 minutes of the centre of Morogoro town, Simbamwenni Lodge is set within 6 acres of peaceful park-like tropical gardens, along the Ngerengere river. Big mature trees and flowering shrubs abound, while we are striving for self sufficiency with a varied kitchen garden, coconut palms, bananas and a variety of citrus trees
Simbamwenni, named after the city-state on the Ngerengere river visited by Henry Morton Stanley during his expedition in search of Dr Livingstone, is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable accommodation for individuals and groups who are looking for a secure, comfortable stop-over location near some of the most important eco-tourist attractions on the Southern Circuit in Tanzania

Although this place is close to the main tanzam highway, it feels remote and close to nature. Walk around the grounds and admire the veg garden, regal trees and reedy river. We were delighted to spot bright weavers and red bishops splash their colour throughout the camp.
“It's a great starting point for a walk to Morningside”
"Like a fairytale - We visited the lodge on our way to Nyerere and spent there one night. I just wish we could stay more! We felt like inside a fairytale- beautiful shalet with amazing view, the grounds well kept and a pool - nice for cooling down and relaxing between busy safari days. Sunset views from our back porch were stunning. Eta was most welcoming and we had tasty dinner in a very intimate setting. Breakfast was good too. I would wholeheartedly recommend this lodge and shalet specifically."
